In fact, these bikes even had little back rests. The last time we had seen
bicycle back rests were on those 1980's "Choppers", remember those?!



So, where are we? We are in the Moerenuma Park, on the outskirts of
Sapporo. Designed in 1988 by a famous Japanese sculptor. I'll spare you
the details, but suffice to say that the poor chap died in the same year and
it took the authorities 17 years to build it. The park's merits? It contains
a series of designs, such that it is considered one "sculpture", and... it was
constructed on an old waste disposal site.
