Shinjuku, Tokyo's largest entertainment district. Uncoincidentally it is
also one of Tokyo's most important business districts. From the boardroom
to the brothel (albeit high-class), via dinner, a round of karaoke and
several rounds of sakes, is the familiar path of businessman on any night
of the week.
Such is the concentration of restaurants, bars, karaoke clubs, gents clubs,
ladies clubs, and 'soap lands' (these establishments provide what the name
suggests, and specialise in 'body-to-body massage'!) that they can be found
on every floor of the building - you can see this by the neon lights in the
photo above. It's quite odd to take a lift to the ninth floor to have dinner!

Our dinner started with a spot of sushi...

... and was finished with a few rounds of yakitori.

Here we are in a tiny shack that forms part of the narrow "Piss Alley" in
the Shinjuku district of Tokyo. It gets its name from the unsavory acts of
drunken businessmen who frequent the greasy eateries.
The young man, straight out of the office and still dressed in his sebiro,
ate his yakitori (mostly various cuts of pork, chicken and beef) raw.
Perhaps that's why he appears to wear such a devoid expression, a bit
like ET after a hard session of star-gazing!

Jeff's beer and pig face!

A very yakitori moment.

María even manages to catch a street gig on the way back to the hotel.
